Présentation

L’équipe Virus : Emergences, interactions et évolution (VIRéMIE) de l’UMR INRAe-ENVT 1225 Interactions Hôtes-Agents Pathogènes (IHAP) est une structure de recherche en infectiologie animale, rattachée au département de santé animale de l’INRAe et basée sur le site de l’Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire de Toulouse.

Les principaux objectifs de recherche sont de comprendre les interactions entre les virus et leurs hôtes, aux différentes échelles du vivant (moléculaire, cellulaire, individuel, population). Les finalités des recherches menées par l’équipe sont de contribuer à la maîtrise des viroses infectieuses animales et à la protection de la santé humaine, en particulier dans les domaines des zoonoses. Les recherches s’inscrivent dans le concept « One Health ».

Les recherches de l’équipe s’articulent autour de 3 axes thématiques :

  • Evolution, plasticité et émergence des pathogènes,
  • Compréhension des mécanismes infectieux et de la réponse de l’hôte,
  • Amélioration du contrôle et de la maitrise des maladies infectieuses.

Nos modèles d’étude viraux sont principalement les virus influenza, ainsi que plus généralement les virus respiratoires des volailles et des ruminants, ainsi que les virus émergents.
